Kelsey Plum, star guard for the Las Vegas Aces, and Darren Waller, tight end for the New York Giants, have filed for divorce in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas. The couple was married in March 2023 after reportedly dating for one year.
Plum, 29, and Waller, 31, are both accomplished athletes. Plum is a two-time WNBA champion with the Aces and a gold medalist in women’s 3×3 basketball at the Tokyo Olympics. Waller made the Pro Bowl in 2020 while playing for the Las Vegas Raiders.
In an Instagram post, Plum expressed her devastation over the divorce. “I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go,” she wrote. “God has given me such an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends. One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day.”
Waller has yet to comment on the divorce filing. It is unclear if he plans to play in the 2024 season or retire from professional football.
