Kenya Airways Group Managing Director and CEO, Allan Kilavuka, was honored with the 2024 African Aviation Leadership Award, established by African Aviation Magazine in 1999. The prestigious award recognizes individuals, companies, and organizations that have consistently contributed to the improvement of aviation in Africa.
Nick Fadugba FRAeS, CEO of African Aviation, praised Kilavuka for his exceptional leadership and innovative strategies that have raised the standards of the aviation sector in Africa.
Kilavuka expressed his gratitude for the award, acknowledging the unwavering dedication and enthusiasm of the entire Kenya Airways team. He highlighted their commitment to provide world-class services, advance connectivity across the continent, and promote innovation in the industry.
The award jury comprised distinguished experts from the aviation sector, including Nick Fadugba (African Aviation), Alfred Jones (Fulcrum Capital, USA), Richard Bouma (ARC Group, South Africa), Joao Jorge (former CEO of LAM-Mozambique), and Joachim Vermooten (University of Johannesburg, South Africa).
This year marks the 32nd anniversary of African Aviation’s MRO Africa & African Aviation Training and Air Finance Africa Conferences, which celebrate the industry’s continuous growth and advancements. Past recipients of the African Aviation Leadership Award include Ethiopian Airlines, Michael Shirima (Precision Air), and Nick Fadugba (African Aviation).
