The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) in Kerala has opened the window for students seeking a second chance to pass their Class 12 exams. The Kerala Board Higher Secondary SAY (Save A Year)/Improvement Exam 2024 will be held from June 12th to June 20th.
The SAY exam is a lifeline for students who failed one or more subjects in their regular Class 12 exams. By passing this exam, they can avoid losing an entire academic year.
Students who appeared for the Kerala Class 12 board exams this year and wish to improve their scores in specific subjects are eligible to apply for the DHSE SAY exams 2024.
The SAY exams will be conducted in two sessions daily: forenoon (FN) and afternoon (AN). The subject-wise schedule is as follows:

* AN: Part II Languages, Chemistry, History, Islamic History & Culture, Business Studies, Communicative English
June 13 (Thu)

This year, a total of 4,41,120 students appeared for the Kerala Class 12 exams, with a near-even split between girls and boys. While 2,94,888 students successfully cleared the exam, the overall pass percentage has dropped slightly compared to 2023. This year’s pass percentage stands at 78.69%, down from 82.95% in the previous year.
The announcement of the SAY exams provides students with an opportunity to improve their academic standing and pursue their higher education aspirations.
