American television celebrity and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian made headlines for her attendance at the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant wedding in Mumbai on July 12, accompanied by her younger sister Khloe Kardashian. The sisters have confirmed through Instagram posts that scenes from the grand wedding celebration will be featured in their popular reality show ‘The Kardashians’.
The Kardashians were among a host of Indian and global personalities invited to the extravagant wedding ceremony held at the Ambani-owned Jio Convention Centre in BKC, Mumbai. A video posted by Khloe on Instagram, showcasing her and Kim being followed by a production crew, first hinted at the filming for their family show ‘The Kardashians’. Kim later confirmed the filming with a screenshot of the sisters preparing for the Ambani wedding, writing, “Had to screen grab our video bc we’re just so happy to be lucky enough to travel the world together! And duh we were filming The Kardashians too so you guys can see Kim and Khloe take India (sic).”
‘The Kardashians’, streamed by Disney Hotstar in India, focuses on the family and personal lives of the Kardashians and Jenners. It is a reboot of the original reality TV show ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ that aired on E! television network in the United States. The long-running show concluded after a 20-season run in 2021.
Both Kim and Khloe, styled by Dani Levi, graced the wedding in custom-made designs and jewelry by celebrity-favorite designer Manish Malhotra. While Kim opted for a glittering red lehenga-saree, Khloe chose an ivory-gold lehenga-saree adorned with heavy embellishments. The Kardashian sisters arrived in Mumbai on July 12 with their staff and security detail. They received a red carpet welcome at the Taj Mahal Hotel and even enjoyed an auto rickshaw ride through the city’s vibrant streets before attending the wedding.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman and Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, tied the knot with pharmaceutical heiress and Viren Merchant’s daughter Radhika Merchant at the star-studded event on July 12. (With inputs from PTI)
