Kolkata Knight Riders Eye Playoff Berth Against Mumbai Indians
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are poised to secure a playoff berth in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as they face the struggling Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Eden Gardens on Saturday. KKR’s resurgence this season has been largely attributed to the return of their two-time title-winning skipper Gautam Gambhir as team mentor.
KKR currently lead the 10-team standings with eight wins from 11 matches, and a victory against MI would solidify their position in the top four. In contrast, MI find themselves in a precarious position after being the first team to be eliminated. However, they will be eager to salvage some pride in their remaining fixtures. Suryakumar Yadav’s recent knocks of 56 and an unbeaten 102 have been a bright spot for MI and a positive sign for India ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
