Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harshit Rana believes that star fast bowler Mitchell Starc will bounce back despite his struggles against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
In their recent IPL match, RCB’s Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar formed a century stand, but the team narrowly missed victory by just one run, failing to chase the target set by KKR at Eden Gardens. Starc conceded 55 runs in three overs, but Rana expressed confidence in his recovery.
“Every bowler takes the field with a plan, and he is a top bowler who will help us win games,” said Rana at a press conference. “We have full faith in him.”
Rana believes that the game’s turning point came during RCB’s run chase in the 12th over. When the Challengers were chasing, Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar put up 102 runs for the third wicket, but Andre Russell dismissed both batters. Narine then removed Cameron Green and Mahipal Lomror in the next over, making the chase even more difficult.
“Andre Russell’s over was the turning point, where he took two wickets,” Rana said. “In the last five overs, our bowlers performed exceptionally and restricted the run flow. That was our best phase in the game.”
With this victory, KKR climbed to the second spot in the IPL standings with five wins and two losses, while RCB remained at the bottom with just one win and seven losses.
