KKR’s Narine and Russell Unveiled Bizarre Sleep Schedule During IPL

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, former KKR bowling coach Wasim Akram shed light on the bizarre sleep schedule that West Indies all-rounders Sunil Narine and Andre Russell adhered to during their time with the team in the IPL. According to Akram, Narine and Russell would follow West Indies Time even while in India, leading them to stay up all night and sleep during the day. Akram recalled witnessing Narine at breakfast with puffy eyes and inquiring about the cause. Narine explained that he had been awake all night and was adhering to West Indies time. Russell was also revealed to have followed the same pattern. Akram highlighted that Narine has recently experienced a resurgence as a batsman, amassing 286 runs in seven matches at an impressive strike rate of 176.54 during the ongoing IPL 2024 season. Akram attributed this improvement to the confidence instilled in Narine by the KKR management, coach, and captain Gautam Gambhir. Narine and KKR will face PBKS on April 26 in their next IPL match.
