KL Rahul Set to Enhance Impressive Record Against CSK in IPL 2024

In the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), KL Rahul aims to extend his impressive record against the Yellow Brigade at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. This performance will further bolster his case for a spot in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.

Rahul, the LSG skipper, has consistently opened the innings for Team India, including the previous edition of the T20 World Cup under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. This time around, he is vying for the wicketkeeper’s position in the Indian squad for the World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States.

Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly shared his insights on Rahul’s performance, recalling a conversation they had during the 2022 World Cup. Ganguly emphasized the importance of playing fearlessly and hitting aggressively in T20 cricket, especially at the World Cup. He believes Rahul has the ability to execute this approach effectively.

Rahul’s exceptional knock of 82 off 53 balls against CSK at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday showcased his batting prowess. His innings, which included three sixes and nine fours, played a pivotal role in LSG’s victory over Dhoni-led CSK. Rahul’s impressive record against CSK includes four half-centuries in eight innings.

Ganguly further highlighted Rahul’s impressive run in the powerplays this season, with a strike rate of 150 for LSG. He believes Rahul’s ability to play freely and without fear is crucial in T20 cricket.
