Korean Air Takes Flight to Lisbon, Expanding European Network

On September 11, 2024, Korean Air celebrated a major milestone with the launch of its inaugural flight to Lisbon, Portugal. The event marked a significant step in the airline’s European expansion strategy, offering a convenient new route for travelers seeking to explore the captivating city and its surrounding regions.

The inaugural flight, KE921, departed from Incheon International Airport at 11:50 am, carrying a sense of excitement and anticipation for the journey ahead. The occasion was marked by a special ceremony at the airport, graced by the presence of key figures from Korean Air and the Portuguese government. Among the distinguished attendees were Keehong Woo, President of Korean Air; Kwang Ho Ko, Vice President and Head of Korea Regional Headquarters, Korean Air; H.E. Susana Vaz Patto, Ambassador of Portugal to Korea; and Inês Pereira de Queiroz, Director of Visit Portugal for Japan and South Korea.

Korean Air will operate direct flights between Incheon and Lisbon three times a week, departing on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight KE921 is scheduled to leave Incheon at 1:10 pm, arriving in Lisbon at 8:10 pm local time. The return flight, KE922, will depart Lisbon at 10:10 pm and land in Incheon the following day at 7:10 pm. The flight duration is approximately 15 hours and 10 minutes for KE921 and 13 hours for KE922.

The new route will be operated by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering a comfortable and spacious travel experience for passengers. The aircraft boasts a seating capacity of 278, including 24 seats in the luxurious Prestige Class and 254 in Economy Class.

Lisbon, nestled at the mouth of the Tejo River on the Iberian Peninsula, is renowned for its captivating blend of history, culture, and charm.
