Kris Knoblauch’s Impressive Coaching Resume and Oilers’ Playoff Expectations

Kris Knoblauch, the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers, is about to embark on his first-ever NHL playoff series. The Oilers finished first in the league for both points percentage (.703) and goal differential (+72). They also finished second in even-strength goals for percentage with a 56.97% since November 12th.

Knoblauch took over the Oilers midseason after the team had a disastrous start. He led them to an impressive 49-27-1 record, and they enter the playoffs as favorites over the Los Angeles Kings. However, Knoblauch admits to feeling some rookie jitters.

Despite his lack of NHL playoff experience, Knoblauch has an impressive resume. He won a WHL championship with the Kootenay Ice and an OHL championship with the Erie Otters, where he coached Connor McDavid. He was also awarded the OHL Coach of the Year award in the 2015-16 season.

Knoblauch’s message has clearly resonated with the Oilers, and he has proven that he can turn a team’s fortunes around. It remains to be seen whether his messaging will carry over when it matters most in the playoffs. However, Knoblauch’s impressive resume and the Oilers’ strong play under his leadership should give them confidence as they enter the postseason.
