Kurukshetra University (KU) has been recognized for its research prowess, securing two patents from the Patent Office, Government of India, in April. These patents, titled “Carboxymethycellulose Ester Based Drug Delivery System” and “Apoptosis Inducing Composition Compromising Triazolothiazolyl-Triazole Derivative of Benzene,” represent significant milestones for the university. With these additions, KU now holds a total of 22 patents. Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath lauded the research team’s achievements and emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering research through initiatives such as incentives for researchers, recognition of their contributions, and facilitation of patent filing. Prof Nath further announced the appointment of Prof Ramesh Kumar Mehta, a KU alumnus, as an honorary Professor of IPR & Technology Transfer. Prof Mehta’s expertise will provide valuable guidance and assistance to faculty members seeking to file patents, enhancing KU’s innovation ecosystem.
