Lamborghini’s Urus super SUV has received a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) makeover, making it the second electrified model from the Italian carmaker. Unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show, the Urus SE is a significant step forward in Lamborghini’s electrification plans.
Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine paired with an electric motor, the Urus SE delivers a formidable 588kW of power and an astounding 950Nm of torque. This combination propels the SUV from 0-100km/h in a blistering 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 312km/h. Despite its impressive performance, the Urus SE also offers an electric-only range of over 60km, allowing for emissions-free driving.
To handle this immense power, Lamborghini has equipped the Urus SE with a centrally-located longitudinal electric torque vectoring system. This system, coupled with an electronic limited-slip rear differential, provides exceptional stability and control, allowing the driver to push the SUV to its limits.
Subtle design tweaks differentiate the Urus SE from its ICE counterpart. A new bonnet reminiscent of the Revuelto, revised bumpers and front grille, a new matrix LED headlight signature, and a new rear spoiler and diffuser give the SUV a more aggressive and purposeful stance. A range of alloy wheels from 21 to 23 inches in diameter further enhance its sporty appeal.
Inside, the Urus SE features a larger 12.3-inch infotainment system with updated graphics, offering a more intuitive and modern user experience. New panel, seat, and dashboard coverings add to the interior’s luxurious ambiance. Lamborghini has also expanded the color range through its Ad Personam customization division, providing customers with a wide range of exterior and interior options.
Slated to arrive in Australia in the second quarter of 2025, the Lamborghini Urus SE carries a price tag of $475,834 before on-road costs, making it the most expensive Urus variant offered in the country. With its stunning performance, advanced technology, and bespoke styling, the Urus SE is a testament to Lamborghini’s commitment to innovation and automotive excellence.
