Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong Embarks on a Luxury Transformation

The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, a beacon of exceptional hospitality in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district since 2005, is poised for a luxurious transformation. As part of LANDMARK’s transformative ‘Tomorrow’s CENTRAL’ project, the hotel is set to redefine ultra-luxury living in the city. The reimagined LANDMARK will provide guests with convenient access to a world of luxury, boasting 10 world-class Maison destinations, including Cartier, CHANEL, Dior, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Saint Laurent, Sotheby’s, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels. This unparalleled luxury ecosystem also encompasses over 200 exceptional retail experiences and over 100 gastronomic offerings.

Starting in November 2024, the hotel will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment. While the enhancements are underway, the hotel’s renowned seven Michelin-starred dining options on the 7th floor will continue to operate. These include the 2-Michelin and Green-starred Amber and SOMM, led by Chef Richard Ekkebus, the 3-Michelin-starred Sushi Shikon, and the 1-Michelin-starred Kappo Rin. Adding a vibrant new dimension to the hotel’s award-winning culinary offerings, two exciting new dining and bar concepts featuring a stunning alfresco terrace will be introduced in the heart of Central.

Guestrooms and suites will be artfully refreshed to complement the overall elevated offerings. The Oriental Spa will introduce new and revitalizing facilities, providing guests with an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling city. Renowned Hong Kong designer Joyce Wang, the original architect of the hotel’s chic residential-style interiors, has been appointed to oversee this exciting new design phase. Her vision will bring exquisite craftsmanship to the guestrooms and suites, alongside elevated wellness spaces and vibrant new dining venues.

Greg Liddell, Area Vice President, Operations, stated, “The return of Joyce’s signature touch to this hotel will again set a global benchmark, and we are looking forward to unveiling exceptional new experiences, as we embark on a new era for The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong while celebrating the 20th anniversary of the hotel in 2025.”

Michael Smith, Chief Executive of Hongkong Land, added, “The reimagined The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong will be an integral part of our upcoming transformative journey for the LANDMARK, exemplifying our vision of creating a world-class luxury lifestyle and business destination in the heart of Central.”

Laurent Kleitman, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, concludes, “Hong Kong is and has always been home of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
