Behaviour Interactive, the developers behind Dead by Daylight, have officially confirmed the arrival of Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft to the game. This follows numerous leaks and anticipation from fans. While Dead by Daylight has never been solely focused on horror, all characters are expected to be capable of facing the Entity and its challenges within The Fog. Lara Croft, known for her resilience and resourceful nature, certainly fits the bill.
The official announcement highlights the Lara Croft from the 2013 Tomb Raider game, set on the island of Yamatai. A statement from the developers reads, “Her memories of Yamatai may fade with time, overtaken by nightmarish black fog. Yet the lessons she learned will remain ingrained, even in the face of endless terror.” They continue, “While someone with lesser resolve might scream, Lara understands the severity of that reaction, instead using it as an opportunity to regroup and scout her enemies.”
Unlike other Survivors previously added to the game, Lara Croft arrives solo, without a Killer or a map. She does bring with her three unique perks:

Finesse:
This perk increases the speed of fast vaults by 20% when the player is healthy.*
Hardened:
This perk reveals the Killer’s aura for a short time after unlocking a chest or cleansing/blessing a totem.*
Specialist:
This perk grants extra tokens when opening or searching a chest. These tokens can be consumed for a greater skill check on a generator, reducing the maximum required progress for that generator.Behaviour Interactive announced Lara Croft alongside a major patch, now available in the Public Test Build (PTB). Version 8.1.0 was initially planned to include a feature called Disconnect Bots, where a bot would spawn if a player disconnected during loading. However, due to negative feedback from players, this feature has been removed.
Players can test out Lara Croft and the new balance changes in the PTB before her official release on July 16th. This is only the most recent change to Dead by Daylight this year. The game has already seen the addition of Survivors like Alan Wake, crossovers with franchises like Dungeons & Dragons, and news of multiple spin-off titles.
