Latur MSRTC Depot Manager Held for Alleged Bribery
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has apprehended the depot manager of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) in Latur for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a driver. The suspect, Balaji Adsule, was detained after the ACB laid a trap and caught him in the act of taking the bribe.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Adsule, and an investigation is underway.
In a separate incident in March, the ACB nabbed a revenue official in Navi Mumbai for allegedly seeking and receiving a bribe related to land records. According to reports, the official, Kiran Arjun Gore, demanded Rs 1 lakh to assist in the conversion of ancestral land holdings. However, after negotiations, the bribe amount was reduced to Rs 80,000.
The complainant approached the ACB, leading to Gore’s arrest while accepting Rs 40,000 as part of the agreed-upon payment. A case has been registered against Gore at the Panvel police station under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
In February, two government officials in Raigad district were arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 25,000. Based on a complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught one of the accused while accepting the bribe amount.
