L’Avenue, the Parisian hotspot synonymous with chic and delicious French cuisine, has landed in São Paulo, opening its third location at the prestigious Shopping Cidade Jardim. This expansion marks the second outpost outside of Paris, following the successful launch in New York City.
Known for its iconic status as a Parisian must-visit during fashion weeks, L’Avenue São Paulo is already drawing crowds. Chef Fabiana Agostini, leading the kitchen of this Brazilian venture, reveals that the restaurant has been packed since its opening.
The menu, inspired by the Parisian flagship, boasts a delectable array of French classics, including the popular Avocato Thon Epicee (tuna tartar with avocado and Asian dressing), escargots in garlic and parsley butter, as well as shrimp dim sum and Thai spring rolls with chicken and curry.
Agostini explains, “We’ve included the most beloved dishes from Paris, adding our Brazilian touch to create a unique experience.” This includes innovative dishes like the Tom Yam chili sea bass (with artichoke, chili sea bass, tom yam sauce, kaffir lime, bird’s eye chili, coriander, and ginger), and Le Tigre (grilled marinated mignon, fish sauce, chili shrimp paste, lime juice, and chili purée).
The culinary symphony is further elevated by the use of imported ingredients, such as curries, tom yam paste, French butter, and French foie gras, complemented by the finest locally sourced products, including escargots and filet mignon.
For dessert, L’Avenue São Paulo indulges in the Parisian classics: Costes Crackers cheesecake and fine aux pommes (apple tart). “All of our desserts, including ice cream, cakes, and cheesecakes, are made in-house,” shares Agostini. “We’ve brought over the most popular dishes from Paris and recreated them here.”
The beverage selection echoes the Parisian experience, offering a concise and thoughtfully curated wine list with an emphasis on French labels. Signature cocktails like the Cidade Jardim (gin, orange bitters, pineapple, chamomile, and lime) have been specially crafted for the Brazilian location.
The ambiance replicates the chic Parisian setting, drawing inspiration from the original L’Avenue, often seen as a backdrop for selfies of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Lana Del Rey. The interior design, crafted by Sig Bergman, embraces the Parisian essence with a tropical twist, incorporating lush vegetation and neutral colors.
L’Avenue São Paulo is poised to become the city’s latest culinary destination, offering a taste of Parisian elegance and sophistication amidst the vibrant energy of São Paulo.
