Law Student Found Dead in Hostel Room in Lucknow

A 19-year-old law student, Anika Rastogi, was tragically found dead in her hostel room at Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday night. Anika, a third-year BA LLB student, was the daughter of Sanjay Rastogi, a 1998 batch IPS officer currently serving as Inspector General at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Delhi.

According to reports, Anika went to her hostel room on Saturday night and did not respond to phone calls or knocks from her friends. Worried by her silence, her friends forced open her room door and found her lying unconscious on the floor. The room was locked from the inside, and no suspicious items were discovered.

Anika was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state, but doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital issued a statement confirming her death at around 10 pm due to cardiac arrest. The hospital expressed their condolences to Anika’s family and mourned her untimely demise.

The Lucknow Police, who have been investigating the case, have reported that Anika’s clothes were intact and there were no visible injuries on her body. Further investigation will be conducted based on the results of the post-mortem examination. As of now, the police have not received a formal complaint from the family. The investigation into the cause of Anika’s death is ongoing.
