In a critical update regarding the investigation into the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police has arrested seven individuals believed to be affiliated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang. These arrests come amidst rising concerns about the gang’s activities and their suspected role in Siddique’s murder.
The apprehended suspects were reportedly planning an attack in Rajasthan and were captured in Punjab and other states, leading to the seizure of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition. Sources within the police suggest that the suspects were acting under the direction of Arzoo Bishnoi, a close associate of imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
While the investigation is examining possible links between the arrested suspects and the Baba Siddique murder case, it’s important to note that these arrests primarily relate to the planned attack in Rajasthan.
Further police inquiries indicate that the suspects received direct orders from RJ Bishnoi, who operates independently but has past connections to the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. Currently, there is no direct evidence linking these arrests to the murder of Baba Siddique.
Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, was tragically shot on October 12 near his son’s office in Mumbai’s Bandra East. The Bishnoi gang has since claimed responsibility for the killing, escalating concerns about the gang’s growing influence and the potential for further violence.
In a separate development in the Siddique murder case, a court has extended the police remand for nine accused individuals until October 26. The accused were presented in the Esplanade Court, where the judge approved the extension. Among the nine are Gurmail Baljit Singh, Dharmaraj Kashyap, Harish Kumar Nisad, Pravin Lonkar, Nitin Gautam Sapre, Sambhaji Kisan Pardhi, Pradeep Dattu Thombre, Chetan Dilip Pardhi, and Ram Fulchand Kanoujia.
Police investigations reveal that Singh and Kashyap were responsible for firing at Siddique. Lonkar’s brother, Shubham, is suspected of being linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and allegedly conspired in the murder while providing firearms to the shooters. These arrests underscore the complex web of individuals involved in the crime and the ongoing efforts to dismantle the Bishnoi gang’s operations.
The arrest of the seven suspected shooters planning an attack in Rajasthan represents a significant move toward countering the Bishnoi gang’s activities. Nonetheless, investigations into the Baba Siddique murder are ongoing, with law enforcement working diligently to bring those responsible to justice. This case highlights the urgent need to address the rising threat of organized crime and implement enhanced security measures to prevent future violence.
