Le Boat Expands to Canada, Launches New Base on Trent-Severn Waterway

Le Boat, a leading provider of European boat rentals, is excited to announce its entry into Canada. This expansion features a new route and marina along the renowned Trent-Severn Waterway, a national historical site. The new base will be located at the Horseshoe Bay Marina in Peterborough, Ontario, ensuring easy access to the waterway. “We are thrilled to open our second Canadian base on the Trent-Severn Waterway, a national historic site that many have been eagerly anticipating. The inaugural voyage for 2024 is set to launch on May 11th. The global executive team of Le Boat will commemorate this occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tour of the luxury Horizon Cruises, and the commencement of the inaugural voyage.

Le Boat’s Chief North American marketing manager, and head of Canada, Lisa McLean, expressed her excitement: ”Our international customers will be captivated by the stunning landscapes and unspoiled waterways of Ontario, particularly the famous Lift Locks in Peterborough. This expansion will also cater to locals seeking a ‘cottage country’ escape, offering them a unique perspective on boat life.” The Trent-Severn boating season commences on May 17th, aligning with the Victoria Day Long Weekend, marking the unofficial start of summer. Guests can book an unforgettable long weekend escape or an extended summer holiday for 2024.

Le Boat’s fleet on the Trent-Severn Waterway will consist of eight top-tier Horizon Cruisers, ranging from two to four bedrooms. They will provide multiple cruising routes starting from the Horseshoe Bay Marina. Prices start at $2,800 CAD per week for the Horizon 1 Cruiser, which accommodates up to five people. Travelers can choose from short breaks of 3 to 6 nights or longer vacations of 7-10+ nights, living and dining aboard one of Le Boat’s luxurious houseboats. No boating license or prior experience is required; Le Boat’s knowledgeable team will provide all the necessary training for guests to confidently captain their vessels.

The summer of 2024 will offer numerous events enhancing the cruising experience along the waterway. The Peterborough Music Festival runs from June 29th to August 17th. The New Canada Canoe Museum opens on May 13th, featuring an extraordinary aerial spectacle with Canada’s Snowbird Formation and F-16 Falcon. On June 29th, guests can sail to the Trent Port Marina and enjoy the Air Show from their decks. Le Boat also assists with trip planning, offering sample cruising routes, recommendations, and highlights of attractions along the way.

Suggested itineraries include a northward journey towards Bobcaygeon, passing through scenic lakes and rivers to charming towns like Lakefield and Buckhorn. Historical sites such as the Peterborough Lift Lock and the quaint village of Bobcaygeon await exploration. Alternatively, guests may opt for a southward journey to the historic town of Trenton, cruising along the Otonabee River to Rice Lake. They can visit Hastings, Campbellford, and immerse themselves in the natural beauty between Locks 10 and 9 on the Trent-Severn Waterway before reaching Trenton, the southern cruising boundary, home to the National Air Force Museum of Canada.
