Latham & Watkins LLP is thrilled to announce the arrival of Jonathan Katz as a partner in the Project Development & Finance Practice at their Houston office. Katz brings a wealth of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) matters, having worked on numerous domestic and international projects across the energy and infrastructure sectors. His expertise in drafting and negotiating EPC contracts, long-term service agreements, and operations and maintenance agreements is highly sought after, particularly in the oil and gas, LNG, power, petrochemical, and energy transition sectors.
Katz’s arrival is seen as a significant addition to Latham’s Houston office. Nick Dhesi, the Office Managing Partner, highlights Katz’s industry recognition, especially for his ability to craft EPC contracts for complex and groundbreaking projects. He emphasizes that Katz’s expertise further strengthens Latham’s capacity to provide exceptional services to clients in Houston and beyond, solidifying their position as a leading firm for project development and finance matters.
Jeff Greenberg, Global Chair of Latham’s Project Development & Finance Practice, underscores the strategic importance of Katz’s addition. He notes that Latham’s existing capabilities in project development and finance are already considered top-tier, and Katz’s arrival further enhances their ability to offer combined project development and financing services at the highest level. He believes Katz’s market-leading EPC practice will amplify Latham’s ability to provide a comprehensive and integrated solution for all of their clients’ project development and financing needs.
Katz himself expresses his enthusiasm about joining Latham at this exciting time for both the firm and the market. He highlights the synergy between his practice and Latham’s highly regarded energy and infrastructure practice, and he is eager to contribute to the firm’s continued excellence in providing clients with comprehensive solutions for every aspect of project development and project financing.
Katz joins Latham from King & Spalding. He earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Pennsylvania State University. This addition follows the recent arrival of Daniel Sinaiko to the Century City office in April, further solidifying Latham’s commitment to strengthening its Project Development & Finance Practice.
