Leeds United to Expand Elland Road Capacity to 53,000 Seats

Leeds United, the current Championship side, has unveiled exciting plans to significantly expand the capacity of their legendary Elland Road stadium. The ambitious project will see the stadium’s current capacity of 37,645 seats boosted to a whopping 53,000, making it the seventh largest club ground in England. This modernization will not only enhance the stadium’s infrastructure but also allow the club to accommodate its ever-growing fanbase.

The club has consistently sold out every game at Elland Road over the past six years, a testament to their passionate supporters. However, with a waiting list of over 26,000 for season tickets, the demand for seats has far outstripped the current capacity. This expansion is a much-needed solution that will allow thousands more fans to experience the electrifying atmosphere of Elland Road.

Paraag Marathe, Chairman of Leeds and President of 49ers Enterprises, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Our plans reinforce our commitment to the long-term success of the club and I am excited that we are going to be able to welcome thousands more supporters to every game.” This ambitious expansion is a clear indication of Leeds United’s dedication to both their supporters and their future success.
