Legendary Indian banker Narayanan Vaghul breathed his last in Chennai on Saturday at the age of 88, as per a statement released by his family. He passed away at Apollo Hospitals Chennai. Vaghul, a Padma Bhushan awardee, played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of ICICI Bank. He commenced his career with the State Bank of India and assumed the chairmanship of Bank of India at the relatively young age of 44.
