LEGOLAND® New York Resort transformed into a dazzling disco paradise yesterday as hundreds of guests flocked to celebrate the grand debut of its newest attraction, Minifigure Skyflyer. The park was alive with the spirit of the 70s, as guests donned their finest sequined attire, sparkly tutus, and disco ball-themed accessories, ready to groove and make history. The festive extravaganza saw a record-breaking 704 attendees participate in a park-wide disco dance party, surpassing the previous record of 598.
The atmosphere was electric as DJ Dimension led the crowd in a tutorial of the ride’s signature dance, followed by a countdown that erupted in a shower of confetti and cheers. The infectious Minifigure Skyflyer disco tune filled the air, setting the stage for a truly unforgettable experience.
Beloved LEGOLAND New York characters like Lady Robot, Professor Brick, LEGOLAND Boy, and LEGOLAND Girl joined in on the fun, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Stephanie Johnson, President of LEGOLAND New York, expressed her excitement about the new attraction, stating, “Minifigure Skyflyer is a groundbreaking attraction for LEGOLAND Resorts, and the enthusiastic crowd at today’s grand opening shows that LEGOLAND New York is the ideal location for it.”
“Whether you love disco, a pirate party, or dancing with party animals, our guests will enjoy the various themes of this new attraction, spot over 100 minifigures, and keep the party going all season long,” Johnson added.
The Minifigure Skyflyer, included with park admission, offers a thrilling airborne party experience, whisking guests through the park to the beat of the iconic Minifigure Skyflyer Dance. Each Party Pod is ADA accessible, stroller-friendly, and accommodates up to ten people.
LEGOLAND New York is also home to other exciting attractions this summer, including GO Xtreme!, a new show featuring world-class BMX riders, skateboarders, pogo athletes, and more. Visitors can also celebrate Independence Day on July 4th with the annual Red White & BOOM! event.
To cool down after a day of adventure, guests can head to the Water Playground, featuring water cannons, slides, and a giant bucket that pours 318 gallons of water from above.
