Leyan, a player for the iG E-Sports Club’s League of Legends team, has been suspended and fined for making inappropriate comments and actions during a livestream. The specific actions that led to the ban were not mentioned in the official ruling, but Leyan is alleged to have made suggestive movements and bet another streamer that he would vape on the LPL stage after his team’s next loss.
The incident took place during a break from competition, as Leyan’s team was eliminated from the LPL Spring Playoffs on April 1. The Riot ruling was handed down on April 23, and Leyan will not be able to play in the LPL team’s first two best-of-three matches of the Summer Split.
Leyan has not commented on the ban, but he did post a message on Weibo on April 21, saying, “It’s not what everyone thinks. The bear was too big. The music in the headphones was rocking at that time. I just thought the bear was cute, so I hugged it and shook it.”
iG E-Sports Club has also released a statement, saying that Leyan was educated and criticized for his behavior and that they have decided to deduct two months of salary from him.
Leyan has been competing since 2018 and is best known for his 2019 run with Invictus Gaming, which saw him help the team to a top-four placement at the League of Legends World Championship.
