LG NOVA Announces Winners of 2024 Startup Pitch Competition, Spotlighting Innovative Solutions Across Diverse Fields

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 29, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — LG NOVA, the North American Innovation Center of LG Electronics, has revealed the winners of its highly competitive 2024 Startup Pitch Competition. The event, held during LG NOVA’s annual InnoFest in San Francisco, highlighted a diverse array of groundbreaking technological solutions spanning Life Sciences, Open Innovation, HealthTech, AI, Smart Life, and CleanTech. Three startups emerged victorious, captivating the judges with their potential to drive impactful change.

Ten startups from across the innovation landscape competed for substantial cash prizes and valuable recognition in front of a distinguished panel of industry experts, LG executives, and investors. The 2024 winners are:

First Place: mDETECT Inc.

mDETECT has developed revolutionary cancer blood tests utilizing cutting-edge DNA sequencing technology. Their innovative approach offers a universal platform for monitoring therapy response and detecting cancer progression, potentially revolutionizing early cancer detection and treatment. For their groundbreaking work, mDETECT received a top prize of $15,000.

Second Place: Glidance

Glidance is spearheading a new era of independent mobility for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Their revolutionary AI-powered intelligent guide, known as Glide, empowers users with enhanced confidence, safety, and autonomy. This groundbreaking technology earned Glidance a $10,000 award.

Innovation for Impact: Oncoustics

Oncoustics is transforming affordable point-of-care ultrasound devices into powerful diagnostic tools for early detection and monitoring of liver diseases. Their innovative approach utilizes AI to unlock the full potential of these devices, making advanced diagnostics more accessible. Oncoustics received a $10,000 award for their outstanding work in the “Innovation for Impact” category, sponsored by LG Chem.

Beyond the cash prizes, the participating startups will have the opportunity to explore further collaboration through LG NOVA’s Mission for the Future Program. This program is designed to support and nurture innovative startups by providing them with access to potential collaborations, partnership programs, marketing opportunities, and other valuable resources.

The fourth annual LG NOVA InnoFest brought together industry leaders, investors, and startups in a collaborative environment focused on exploring emerging technologies.
