Lions Lock Up St. Brown and Sewell with Long-Term Extensions

The Detroit Lions have made a significant investment in their future by extending the contracts of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and offensive tackle Penei Sewell. St. Brown, a two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro selection, has signed a four-year extension worth $120 million, including $77 million guaranteed. Sewell, also a two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro, has inked a four-year deal worth $112 million, with $85 million guaranteed.

St. Brown, a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has emerged as a key playmaker for the Lions. Last season, he caught 119 passes for 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sewell, the seventh overall pick in the same draft, has started all 17 games for Detroit in each of the past two seasons.

The Lions’ long-term plans at quarterback remain uncertain, as Jared Goff’s future with the team is up in the air. However, the extensions for St. Brown and Sewell provide a solid foundation for the franchise moving forward.
