Lisa Vanderpump Defends Andy Cohen Amidst Allegations and Departure Rumors
Lisa Vanderpump, the renowned reality television star, has staunchly defended Bravo executive Andy Cohen in the wake of allegations of drug use and inappropriate behavior. During an appearance on ‘The Talk,’ Vanderpump dismissed rumors that Cohen may be considering stepping down from his position.
Vanderpump, 63, described her close relationship with Cohen, 55, highlighting her numerous solo appearances on his popular talk show, ‘Watch What Happens Live.’ She emphasized their shared sense of playful humor and dismissed the allegations as harmless and innocuous.
‘He’s a gay man that we have a lot of fun with,’ Vanderpump remarked, further emphasizing her support for Cohen. ‘Damn right I’m on his side!’
Vanderpump questioned the credibility of the allegations, noting that they primarily stem from former Bravo stars who are no longer associated with the network. She specifically mentioned Leah McSweeney and Brandi Glanville, who have publicly made claims against Cohen.
‘We’ve seen ‘Watch What Happens Live,’ it’s one of those talk shows where you can be slightly inappropriate and slightly naughty,’ Vanderpump explained. ‘But when it comes to drug allegations, a thousand percent I would know and no way does it ever happen, no way!’
Rumors of Cohen’s potential departure from Bravo emerged recently following a report by In Touch claiming that negotiations were underway. However, a Bravo spokesperson swiftly denied these claims, stating that there was no truth to the story.
In February, McSweeney filed a lawsuit alleging that Cohen used cocaine with cast members of ‘Real Housewives of New York.’ Cohen vehemently denied the accusations, calling them a ‘shakedown’ through his attorney. Similarly, Glanville accused Cohen of sexual harassment, leading to a public apology from Cohen who claimed the incident was intended as a joke.
