LIV Golf, the golf circuit backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, is set to make its debut in Riyadh, the nation’s capital, for the opening event of its 2025 season. The tournament, slated for February 6-8, will take place at Riyadh Golf Club. This marks a significant move for LIV Golf, which has already hosted three events in Saudi Arabia during its current third season, all at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club near Jeddah.
LIV Golf announced the first four stops of its 2025 season on Tuesday. “As we set our sights on 2025, LIV Golf is gearing up for our most ambitious season start to date,” said Greg Norman, LIV Golf commissioner and CEO, in a statement. “Since our debut in 2022, LIV Golf has played 34 tournaments in nine different countries across four continents. We are a global league with a global footprint, and we’re excited to kick off next season with four truly international events that will deliver our unique blend of elite golf, entertainment and culture to fans around the world.”
Following the Riyadh event, the tour will head to Adelaide, Australia, for a tournament at the Grange Golf Club the following week. Talor Gooch won the Adelaide event in 2023, while Brendan Steele emerged victorious this year, drawing a crowd of over 94,000 fans.
LIV Golf Hong Kong is scheduled for March 7-9, taking place at Hong Kong Golf Club for the second consecutive year. Mexico’s Abraham Ancer triumphed at the event earlier this year. The tour will then make its way to Singapore for the third year in a row, with the Sentosa Golf Club hosting the event on March 14-16. Gooch claimed victory in 2023, while Brooks Koepka secured the win in Singapore this year.
The 2024 LIV Golf season is drawing to a close with two remaining events. LIV Golf Chicago is set for September 13-15 at Bolingbrook (Ill.) Golf Club, followed by the LIV Golf Team Championship Dallas at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, from September 20-22.
