Loganair Celebrates 1.5 Million Passengers at Glasgow Airport with Free Flights for Family

Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline, recently celebrated a significant milestone: 1.5 million passengers have travelled through Glasgow Airport since 2017. To mark this achievement, the airline surprised the Lee family with complimentary flights. The family, consisting of mum Laura, dad Stan, and their 3-year-old son Iver, a budding airplane enthusiast, were on their way home to Benbecula after celebrating birthdays in Lincolnshire.

Glasgow Airport serves as a crucial hub for Loganair, connecting Scotland’s largest city to remote destinations like Barra, Benbecula, Stornoway, and Tiree. The airline also provides year-round service to Northern Ireland, linking Glasgow to Derry and Donegal. Laura, expressing her delight at winning the free tickets, said: “It was such a surprise to be the winners of the free tickets today – what a lovely birthday gift for Iver and me.” The family plans to use the tickets for either more family visits or exploring other Scottish islands.

Luke Lovegrove, Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed his excitement, stating: “We are thrilled to celebrate this significant milestone with the Lee family. Our flights from Glasgow to the Scottish Islands offer vital connections between many rural locations and Scotland’s largest city, which we are proud to call our home.” He thanked the Lee family for their continued support and wished young Iver a future career as a Loganair pilot.

Mark Beveridge, Managing Director of Glasgow Airport, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the strong partnership between the airport and Loganair. He congratulated the airline on the milestone and highlighted their collaborative efforts in providing seamless travel experiences for passengers.

Loganair operates daily flights between Glasgow and Benbecula, catering to both business and leisure travelers. These flights are operated by the airline’s latest ATR turboprop fleet, known for its environmental efficiency. Travelers can book flights on loganair.co.uk or through travel agents. All Loganair flights include a generous luggage allowance of 21kg total (15kg for checked baggage and 6kg for cabin bags). Advance booking is recommended to secure the best fares.
