The second phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 is currently underway, with 88 parliamentary constituencies across 13 states and Union Territories (UTs) going to the polls today, April 26. The polling process began at 7 am and will continue until 5 pm, with an additional hour allocated as a buffer period for voters who are already present in the voting queue. Over 15.88 crore voters, including 3.28 crore young voters in the age group 20-29 years, are eligible to cast their votes in this phase, including 34.8 lakh first-time voters. The first phase of the elections, held on April 19, recorded a voter turnout of around 62 percent. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), seeking a record third term under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has set a target of winning 400 seats in this election. The counting of votes for all seven phases of the Lok Sabha Elections will take place on June 4.
