Lok Sabha Election Campaigning Heats up in Karnataka: Congress and BJP Engage in Advertisement Battle

Congress and BJP Engage in Advertising Battle Amidst Karnataka’s Lok Sabha Election Campaigning

Karnataka’s Lok Sabha election campaigning has gained momentum with Congress and BJP engaging in a battle of advertisements. Congress’ first salvo, a ‘chombu’ advertisement, highlighted grievances and unfulfilled promises, drawing a response from former PM HD Deve Gowda. BJP countered with its ‘Congress Danger’ advertisement, raising concerns about law and order issues in the state.

MA Jayashree, a law student, greeted Siddaramaiah with a garland of free bus tickets.

She expressed gratitude for the government’s Shakti scheme, which enabled her to attend classes. Congress’ advertisement campaign, led by poll strategist Sunil Kanagolu and his company Mindshare, has set the tone for the election.

BJP’s response came in the form of its ‘Congress Danger’ advertisement, highlighting incidents like the Rameshwaram cafe blast and the murder of student Neha Hiremath. The advertisement also raised concerns about the release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu. Poll management company Vaarahi represents BJP in the advertising battle.

IT-BT minister Priyank Kharge believes Congress’ advertisement will resonate with voters, while BJP’s deputy opposition leader Arvind Bellad dismisses the impact of advertisements.

Ultimately, the impact of these advertisements will depend on their amplification on social and traditional media. Whether they will directly influence voters or remain as mere talking points remains to be seen.
