On Saturday, April 20, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of Pacific Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was treated by the Long Beach Fire Department.
According to the Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman, Alyssa Baeza, an initial investigation revealed that the victim was approached by a group of boys who engaged in a verbal altercation with him before striking him with tent poles and a camera tripod. The suspects also threw objects at the victim, causing him injuries.
The boys fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police, but they were subsequently located and apprehended. The three suspects, a 15-year-old, a 14-year-old, and a 12-year-old, were booked for assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime. The 14-year-old suspect was additionally booked for resisting arrest.
The identities of the suspects have not been released to the public due to their juvenile status. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
