In a significant move towards sustainable growth and operational flexibility, LOT Polish Airlines has announced the lease of three Embraer E195-E2 jets from Azorra. These aircraft, boasting a 25% increase in efficiency compared to previous models, are set to join LOT’s fleet by the end of July 2024.
The E195-E2 jets will provide a seamless transition for LOT’s existing E1 flight crews, requiring minimal adjustment. The spacious and comfortable cabin design, devoid of middle seats, ensures passenger satisfaction. This addition complements LOT’s larger narrow-body fleet, maintaining similar seat costs while enhancing flexibility.
Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, expressed his delight, stating, “LOT is a pioneer airline, the global launch customer for the E-jets, and though 90 airlines have since operated the aircraft – the first is always special.” He emphasized the significance of this move for Embraer, celebrating LOT’s first E2s, the 20th anniversary of the E-jet program, and their 25-year partnership with Poland’s flag carrier.
John Evans, CEO and founder of Azorra, acknowledged the importance of supporting LOT’s strategic growth. He highlighted the benefits of the E195-E2s, including reduced fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and operating costs, coupled with enhanced passenger comfort.
The E195-E2 jets will have a comfortable 136-seat configuration. LOT, a major E-jet operator in Europe, continues its legacy as the first to operate a brand-new E-jet in 2004. To date, LOT’s fleet of 43 E-jets has accumulated an impressive record of 850 million kilometers traveled, over 1.4 million flight hours, and has served more than 60 million passengers.
