Reality star Amy Hart has hinted that she may be joining the cast of EastEnders this year. The former Love Island contestant, who shot to fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2019, revealed that she is meeting up with Walford boss Chris Clenshaw later this week.
Amy, who is a mother of one, re-shared a post from EastEnders’ official Instagram page of Honey Mitchell and Jay Brown completing the London Marathon in heartwarming scenes for the BBC soap. Alongside the post, Amy teased that she’ll be having a boozy night out with the executive producer on Wednesday.
EastEnders has welcomed a number of famous faces to Albert Square over the years, including Boris Johnson, Amanda Holden, and David Walliams. While Amy has previously shared that she’s a huge EastEnders fan, so a cameo appearance may be on the cards for this soap enthusiast.
In the soap, Jay and Honey have been preparing to run the Marathon in order to raise funds for a brain tumor charity following Lola Pearce’s passing. In order to fulfill the storyline, actors Emma Barton and Jamie Borthwick both took part in the Marathon themselves.
Jay was married to Lola and was left heartbroken when she passed away from the terminal condition. He and Honey then opted to run the marathon in her memory. They ran as their characters at certain points of the race, including as they went past Cutty Sark in Greenwich and over Tower Bridge.
In the episode, BBC viewers can see Jay and Honey embrace their fellow Walford residents who cheered them on a Tower Bridge. Lauren Branning, Peter Beale, and Callum Highway can be seen cheering them on as they excitedly exclaim: “That’s them!”
