LSU gymnastics sensation Olivia Dunne and several of her triumphant teammates took a break from celebrating their National Championship victory to serve up some chicken at a Baton Rouge Raising Cane’s restaurant. Dunne, a 21-year-old social media superstar with over 13 million followers across multiple platforms, joined teammates Haleigh Bryant, Aleah Finnegan, Konnor McClain, Kiya Johnson, and Savannah Schoenherr in taking customers’ orders and dishing out meals. Dunne shared her experience on her Instagram Stories, posting a clip of herself buttering bread with the caption “Puttin’ me to work.” The Tigers’ historic triumph was secured thanks to a last-second heroics from Finnegan on the balance beam, her score of 9.950 helping LSU edge out California by a mere 0.3750 points. “Winning the first national championship means the world to this team, and its so cool to be a part of history,” Dunne told people gathered outside the restaurant. Dunne, who has one year of eligibility remaining, admitted that the championship victory has given her pause for thought about returning for a fifth year. “It definitely makes me want to come back, but I haven’t quite thought about it completely,” she said on NBC’s Today. “I have just been focused on the now and winning this National title. So I’ll definitely start thinking about it.” Should Dunne decide to hang up her leotard, she would have no shortage of career options to pursue. The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model also has lucrative sponsorship deals with brands such as Nautica, Motorola, and Accelarator, her business success mirroring her skyrocketing social media presence.
