Ludhiana Gears Up for Lok Sabha Elections with Voter Awareness Campaigns

Ludhiana is geared up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with various voter awareness campaigns organized by the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (Sveep) teams. These initiatives aim to encourage residents to exercise their right to vote on June 1st and ensure maximum participation.

One of the key activities undertaken by the Sveep teams involved forming a human chain from Phullanwal chowk to Basant City chowk, with the participation of around 700 residents. Additionally, a bike and car rally was organized to spread voter awareness near Phullanwal chowk. The rally commenced from Phullanwal chowk and concluded at Omaxe apartments on Pakhowal road.

Apart from these events, a voter awareness program was held at Omaxe apartments to sensitize residents about the importance of voting. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney emphasized the district administration’s goal of ensuring maximum participation and achieving over 70% voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections.

ARO Randeep Singh Heer highlighted the numerous voter awareness activities being organized across the district under the Sveep program. He urged eligible residents to enrol as voters using the ‘Voter helpline’ mobile application or the National Voter Services Portal (NVSP). Residents can also visit www.nvsp.in to register themselves as voters until May 4, 2024.

Additional awareness activities are planned in the coming days to encourage voter participation. The Sveep teams are committed to educating and motivating residents to exercise their democratic right and contribute to a successful election process.
