This year, flight attendants will be decked out in regional garb as they journey from Munich to destinations like Osaka and Johannesburg. The festivities extend beyond the skies, with Lufthansa’s ground staff at Munich Terminal 2 also donning Bavarian costumes to welcome travelers.
These bespoke ensembles, crafted by Munich’s renowned traditional clothing firm, Angermaier, are not only stylish but also sustainable. They are certified by “STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX,” ensuring the use of eco-friendly fabrics and materials.
The Oktoberfest celebrations kick off in Terminal 2 lounges with a ceremonial beer keg tapping, marked by the traditional cry of “O’zapft is!” Guests can indulge in authentic Bavarian fare, from Munich potato soup to succulent roast pork with steamed dumplings and vanilla sauce.
First Class lounges will also be offering Bavarian duck breast and a variety of Oktoberfest sweets. To cap off the experience, passengers can enjoy refreshing “After Wiesn” drinks, such as the zesty “Ingwer Shot.”
Lufthansa is extending the Oktoberfest spirit to its international flights departing from Frankfurt and Munich throughout September.
