Luke Bryan’s stage fall at his Coast City Country show in Vancouver, Canada, was not caused by a cellphone as initially reported. The country music star took to “Entertainment Tonight” to clarify that the mishap was due to a slick spot on stage. Despite the fall, Bryan handled the situation with his signature humor, returning a phone to an audience member and joking about his “lawyer calling.”
Bryan also used the opportunity to promote his new single, “Love You, Miss You, Mean It,” quipping that he needed to create a bumper sticker that read, “I busted my ass and this is my new single.”
Beyond the humor, Bryan expressed some concern about potential back issues, as he had recently experienced back trouble due to excessive cycling. He mentioned that he had consulted a chiropractor and was hoping that the fall would not undo his progress with his back recovery.
This is not the first time Bryan has experienced a stage fall. In 2014, he tumbled off a stage during a show in Charlotte, North Carolina, requiring stitches. And in 2022, he had another stage fall during a concert in Raleigh.
