Luxury Hotel to Anchor Mill District Development in Healdsburg

Replay Destinations, a leading destination development company, has announced plans to construct a luxurious 53-room hotel at Mill District in Healdsburg, California. This new hotel will be the central feature of Mill District, a thoughtfully designed neighborhood transforming a 10-acre former lumber mill site in downtown Healdsburg. Beyond the hotel, Mill District will encompass architecturally striking residences designed by Olson Kundig, a range of amenities including a pool and fitness center, retail spaces, and a neighborhood park enveloped by a preserved grove of heritage redwood trees. Situated just steps away from the historic town plaza, the hotel aims to encapsulate the vibrant essence of the community, offering unparalleled experiences that immerse guests in the heart of Sonoma County, establishing a new benchmark for wine country hospitality. The hotel at Mill District will provide distinctive, authentically local guest experiences, creating an immersive journey into the rich traditions of wine, culinary delights, artistic culture, and recreational pursuits synonymous with Healdsburg and Sonoma County. Features will include an intimate spa and wellness center, a sun-drenched outdoor pool and spa deck, a destination restaurant and bar focusing on local cuisine sourced from nearby farms and gardens, and an acclaimed vintners and wine program. The hotel is poised to deliver a truly Sonoma-centric hospitality experience. Replay will retain ownership of the hotel to ensure the realization of their vision. Paul Jorgensen, President & CEO of Replay Destinations, emphasizes the hotel’s significance within Mill District and the broader Healdsburg community. “The Hotel at Mill District will be the gateway to Healdsburg, one of the most charming towns in the country. Being immersed in the culture and community of Healdsburg has been a core principle since the inception of Mill District seven years ago. We will remain a partner and owner to ensure an unparalleled hotel experience for locals, future guests, and our future homeowners,” says Jorgensen. To enhance the creation of this landmark destination, Replay has forged two key relationships. They have enlisted Greg Champion, a distinguished leader in the hospitality sector, to ensure the guest experience at the hotel is exceptional. Champion, former President of Noble House Hotels and President & COO of Benchmark Hospitality International, brings extensive experience in luxury hotels, including his notable involvement with the renowned Bardessono Hotel & Spa in Napa Valley. Additionally, Replay has partnered with Mayacama, one of North America’s premier golf clubs and wine country communities, located just 15 minutes from downtown Healdsburg. Mayacama, known for delivering personalized, high-touch guest experiences, will contribute their expertise in outstanding hospitality, preferred access to local experiences, and acclaimed vintner and food and beverage programs to elevate the operations and guest experience at the hotel. The architecture by Bay Area-based Dunnigan Sprinkle Architects will blend local agrarian influences and industrial inspiration from the site’s history with a contemporary wine country aesthetic. The project is currently in the design review process with the City of Healdsburg, with construction expected to commence in Spring 2025.
