Macao to Host International Gastronomy Fest and Forum for its 25th Anniversary

Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is thrilled to announce the “Celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR – International Cities of Gastronomy Fest” from June 14 to 23. A key event during this celebration will be the “International Gastronomy Forum, Macao,” scheduled for June 17 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre of Macau Fisherman’s Wharf. This marks the Forum’s first occurrence post-pandemic and aims to gather delegates from Creative Cities of Gastronomy worldwide, catering industry leaders, and other influential figures to delve into the integration of gastronomy with wellness and sustainable gastronomic practices. The Forum intends to highlight Macao’s pivotal role as a platform for preserving gastronomic culture and fostering international collaboration among the Creative Cities of Gastronomy. It will feature two panel sessions and a meeting for exchanging ideas, all centered around the theme “Holistic Gastronomy: Eat well, live well.” Since being designated a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in 2017, MGTO has played an active role in elevating Macao’s profile in this field through continuous participation in global events and alignment with the “1 + 4” economic diversification strategy. These efforts aim to seamlessly blend tourism and gastronomy, supporting the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The upcoming “International Cities of Gastronomy Fest, Macao” will include the Gastronomy Forum as a major highlight, enhancing Macao’s appeal as a Creative City of Gastronomy and encouraging deeper connections between gastronomy, wellness, tourism, and other sectors. This event will serve as a dynamic platform for both locals and tourists, propelling Macao’s tourism and hospitality industries forward. Currently, the global network of Creative Cities of Gastronomy includes 56 cities, with China hosting six of these, including Macao, a testament to the country’s significant presence in the gastronomy field.
