Mohan Yadav Slams Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Cowardice’ Over Amethi Withdrawal
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who is leading the BJP campaign in the state for the first time since becoming CM, has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Speaking in an exclusive interview, Yadav questioned Gandhi’s decision not to contest from Amethi in the upcoming elections, calling it a sign of ‘cowardice.’ He said, ‘The Congress should explain why he (Rahul Gandhi) is not fighting (from Amethi). I only think that it is their cowardice.’ Gandhi has opted to contest from Rae Bareli instead, leaving Amethi, a traditional Congress stronghold, without a Gandhi family member contesting. Yadav suggested that Gandhi’s decision was a sign of his weakness and unwillingness to face the challenge of defending his family’s legacy in Amethi.
Yadav Takes Aim at Samajwadi Party’s ‘Dynastic Politics’
Yadav also criticized the Samajwadi Party, which has been associated with the Yadav community in Uttar Pradesh, for promoting dynastic politics and neglecting the interests of the community. He said, ‘If Chief Ministers, Ministers, MLAs, and MPs come from one family, then how can they talk about the community?’ Yadav presented himself as an example of someone who has risen through the ranks without the benefit of family connections or caste privileges. He said, ‘I am an example in front of them. I am not criticizing anybody but I will share the good things about the BJP. Modi ji himself has said that our BJP gives a chance to everyone, like how ‘Mohan Yadav ji is working in Madhya Pradesh’. So, should this example be shared or not?’ Yadav’s comments reflect the BJP’s strategy of wooing the Yadav community, which has traditionally been a support base for the Samajwadi Party. By highlighting his own success story, Yadav aims to challenge the Samajwadi Party’s claim to represent the interests of the community.
Yadav Addresses Youth Unrest in Madhya Pradesh
In the interview, Yadav also addressed the issue of youth unrest in Madhya Pradesh, particularly over the state of government job recruitments. He said, ‘The youth is not angry. We are giving jobs. Apart from this, we are continuously filling vacancies. The youth is happy about it.’ Yadav defended the government’s handling of the patwari (revenue department staff) exam issue, saying that an inquiry by a retired High Court judge had found the process fair and that all selected candidates had been given appointments. He also highlighted the government’s efforts to streamline the recruitment process and eliminate delays in filling vacancies.
Yadav on Mani Shankar Aiyar and Sam Pitroda’s ‘Unfortunate’ Statements
Commenting on the recent controversial statements made by Mani Shankar Aiyar and Sam Pitroda, Yadav said, ‘These are really unfortunate statements. We are saying that they (Congress leaders) are zero in terms of ideology. Their roots are not in this country. They are seen in India but their roots are in Pakistan and America.’ He accused the Congress leaders of being out of touch with the sentiments of the Indian people and said that their statements reflected the party’s continued decline.
