Madhya Pradesh, a state in central India, has emerged as a popular travel destination for international visitors. Known as the ‘Heart of Incredible India’, the region offers a unique blend of natural beauty, rich history, and cultural experiences. From the serene lakes of Bhopal to the majestic Gwalior Fort, Madhya Pradesh caters to diverse interests, attracting travelers seeking an authentic Indian experience.
To further enhance connectivity and boost tourism, the state government has launched the ‘PM Shri Paryatan Vayu Seva’, a new intra-state flight service. This initiative, inaugurated on June 13, 2024, by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, connects several key cities within Madhya Pradesh, including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Rewa, Khajuraho, and Singrauli.
The new air service is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) and M/s Jet Serve Aviation Private Limited (Flyola). It utilizes six-seater twin-engine aircraft, offering a safe, comfortable, and affordable travel option. The service is expected to expand with the introduction of larger aircraft, accommodating up to 20 passengers, based on demand.
Madhya Pradesh has witnessed a significant surge in tourism in recent years, with tourist numbers tripling in 2023 compared to the previous year. This surge is attributed to the state’s pristine environment, safe atmosphere, and growing popularity among solo female travelers. The state is also becoming a prominent destination for spiritual and religious tourism, offering authentic and enriching experiences to its visitors.
With its diverse landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and now improved air connectivity, Madhya Pradesh continues to evolve as a destination for travelers seeking a unique and memorable Indian experience.
