The Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, a scheme aimed at empowering women in Maharashtra, has witnessed an overwhelming response in Mumbai. As of now, over 1.7 lakh applications have been received from women in the city district, with a remarkable 1.3 lakh applicants qualifying for the scheme. Mumbai City Collector Sanjay Yadav has expressed his appreciation for the participation and encouraged more women to apply. To facilitate the process, 75 help centers have been established across the city at the ward level, with 74 centers operational in 52 wards and 9 wards still in the process of launching. A dedicated team, comprising Anganwadi Sevaka, Chief Sevaka, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation System, District Women and Child Development Officer, and Mumbai City Office System, is diligently working to scrutinize the applications. To streamline the process, a War Room has been set up at D Ward under the Integrated Child Development Project Officer.
Alongside this initiative, Collector Sanjay Yadav announced the establishment of a control room in the collector’s office. The Chief Minister’s Youth Work Training Scheme, another crucial program launched by the state government, aims to enhance the employability of youth by providing them with practical job training after their education. This scheme facilitates real-world work experience and offers a stipend as financial assistance to the participants. Private sector establishments and entrepreneurs are encouraged to take on candidates under this scheme, up to 10 percent of their total working manpower. For the service sector, 20 percent of the total working candidates can be recruited for Chief Minister Youth Work Training. Furthermore, 5 percent of approved posts in government, semi-government establishments, industry corporations of the central and state governments are available for job training under this scheme. The District Skill Development Employment and Entrepreneurship Guidance Centre is responsible for implementing this program.
