In a move to cater to the growing demand for international business-class travel, MakeMyTrip has launched an exciting new initiative. The travel platform is offering a generous 20% discount on fares for business-class flights in partnership with 10 leading airlines.
This collaboration brings together a diverse range of airlines including well-known international carriers like Qantas, Malaysia Airlines, and Singapore Airlines, alongside domestic players like Air India, Air India Express, and Vistara. Completing the list are Oman Air, Air Astana, Turkish Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic.
This initiative aims to enhance the business-class travel experience and builds upon MakeMyTrip’s recent introduction of a dedicated Business Class Funnel for international flights. This new funnel streamlines the booking process, making it easier for premium travelers to find and secure their desired business-class tickets.
The decision to offer these discounts aligns with insights gathered from MakeMyTrip’s own ‘How Indians Travel Abroad’ report. The report reveals a 10% increase in searches for international business-class flights between 2023 and 2024, indicating a growing trend towards premium travel experiences.
While business-class travel has traditionally been associated with long-haul destinations like the USA and the UK, the report highlights a shift towards shorter routes. Travelers are increasingly seeking business-class experiences on routes to destinations like Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Japan, and Saudi Arabia. This signifies a broader accessibility of business-class travel, making it an option for a wider range of trips and destinations.
