Malaysia Airlines Deepens Partnership with Amadeus to Enhance Travel Experience in India

Malaysia Airlines has taken a significant step forward in its long-standing partnership with Amadeus, a global leader in advanced travel technology. The airline has deployed NDC-sourced content for Amadeus-connected travel agents in India, a move designed to elevate the travel experience for customers and provide travel agents with a competitive advantage.

Through the New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform, travel agents in India will now have access to exclusive promotional fares and a diverse range of value-added services. This includes options for extra baggage, seat selection, and lounge access, all offered at attractive rates. This integration allows agents to offer unique deals both through the NDC platform and directly on Malaysia Airlines’ website.

Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group, emphasized the crucial role of adopting NDC in modernizing airline retail. “Our partnership with Amadeus has been instrumental in achieving our transformation goals,” he stated. “With NDC, we aim to enhance the shopping experience and empower customers to personalize their travels, aligning with our vision of becoming Asia’s leading travel and aviation services group.”

Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Travel Unit & Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Amadeus, highlighted the significance of this partnership as a major milestone in their strategy to integrate NDC content into the travel seller’s ecosystem. “This deployment supports the industry’s ongoing retailing journey and reinforces our commitment to offering more travel content globally and at scale,” Laforgue said.

The collaboration between Malaysia Airlines and Amadeus is further strengthened by their existing technology agreements. In 2022, Malaysia Airlines renewed its Amadeus Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS) contract and adopted several advanced technology solutions, demonstrating the robust and ongoing partnership between the two companies. This latest initiative underscores their shared commitment to driving innovation and delivering a superior travel experience for customers in India and beyond.
