Malaysia’s participation in ATM 2024 marks its 31st year at the event, highlighting its continued focus on the growing West Asia market. The Malaysia Pavilion showcased tourism offerings tailored to the needs and preferences of Middle Eastern buyers, recognizing the region as a vital tourist source, especially during their summer vacation. With the upcoming launch of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, Malaysia aims to attract more West Asia tourists and capitalize on the market’s potential for outbound tourism, trade, and investment. Malaysia’s tourism goals for 2024 include attracting 27.3 million international visitors and generating RM102.7 billion in tourism revenue. The significant increase in visitors from the Gulf region in recent years has prompted Tourism Malaysia to intensify its efforts in this market.
