Man Accused of Stabbing in New Jersey Apprehended in Mississippi

Imani Goodman, a 26-year-old man, has been apprehended in Mississippi in connection with an attempted murder investigation near the Jersey Shore two weeks ago. Goodman allegedly stabbed an individual during an altercation at a Lower Township residence in Cape May County. He faces charges of second-degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. According to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Goodman is awaiting extradition to New Jersey. The arrest was a result of a collaborative effort between multiple jurisdictions. On April 3, police responded to a residence on Oregon Avenue in the Villas neighborhood of Lower Township, where they found a victim with multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center in critical but stable condition, and their current status is unknown. Prosecutors declined to provide further details on how investigators located Goodman in Mississippi. This investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be provided as they become available.
