A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed assault at Gaa-gwekwekojiwang (Ebb and Flow First Nation). Officers from the Ste. Rose-du-Lac detachment responded to a home in the community shortly after 3:30 a.m. on April 13, hearing gunshots coming from behind it.
With the assistance of police dog and drone units, the suspect was tracked to a nearby wooded area. Gunshots were heard, and the suspect was subsequently located and arrested, found to be in possession of a loaded rifle.
The man is facing multiple charges, including assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
