A man has been charged in connection with a ‘series of sexual assaults’ that allegedly took place beneath the Mancunian Way. Police received reports of a number of alleged incidents that occurred in the underpass beneath the busy main road, between November last year and April 2024.
Robert Emmerson, 39, of Fernbank Drive in Manchester, has now been charged with five counts of sexual assault and three counts of indecent exposure. He was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday (April 24).
Greater Manchester Police said the alleged victims are currently being supported by specialist officers.
