Man Jumps Over Train Tracks at Fo Tan Station

A six-second video circulating on Instagram shows a man in black jumping over the train tracks at Fo Tan station. The video, posted on Sunday, has garnered over 112,000 views and sparked comments both commending and condemning the man’s actions.

The MTR Corporation confirmed receiving a report from station staff on Monday night, indicating that surveillance footage captured a man jumping between platforms at 10:25 pm on Saturday. Police identified two suspects in their 20s or 30s, but no arrests have been made.

The MTR Corporation reminds passengers to prioritize their safety and avoid inappropriate behavior that could endanger themselves or others. The East Rail line, where the incident occurred, is currently the only MTR service without automatic platform screen gates to prevent falls onto the tracks. The corporation aims to install these gates by the end of 2025, covering 13 stations and nearly 1,600 gates. The ongoing project aims to enhance safety and prevent accidents.
